2. Paints used…
I am often asked what paints I use, so here is a short summary of paint usage…
Undercoat – I always spray an undercoat, so to get a thin and even coating. I use the Tamiya airbrush (still using the same one since 1989) and Tamiya acrylic – usually the matt Buff (XF57?).
Clothing – For clothing I’ve always used the Humbrol range of paints, with Revell colours to fill in the gaps, both of these being enamel paint ranges. I’ve also recently started to use Vallejo acrylic. The Vallejo range has the advantage of mixing easily, and quick drying, and I’m quite impressed so far – the only problem is getting them – I’ve had to use eBay to source mine, but struck lucky as the seller is in my town, so I can collect.
I will start to upload some painting guides as to the colours used on the prepainted figures I sell, and will try to add a ‘tips page’.
I’m not an expert painter, so please feel free to contact me if you spot errors or can advise on even better ways to paint the figures.
